2008 HALF-DAY HORSEMANSHIP CAMPS

Our morning horse camp is a great camp for those who want a horse camp, and have their afternoon free to play sports, etc.  This camp is offered only four times during our eleven weeks of camp.  The other weeks we are hosting YMCA camps during this time slot.

Our morning campers are going to groom, saddle, and bridle their horses and ponies.  They will take lessons, trail rides, play games on horseback, and practice for their parents’ show on the last day of camp.  The camp group is broken into skill groups on Monday.  These groups are formed based on each child’s prior riding experience.  We also work to keep friends together.  Each skill group is assigned a camp counselor who will work to improve the riding skills of their campers.

Open to boys and girls ages 6 to 16 years old.

No prior riding experience is required.

Morning Camp run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Each camper needs to bring one pound of their favorite trail mix ingredient and lots of water.

Check-in at 8:30 a.m. on the first day of camp.  Every other day campers must arrive by 8:50 a.m.

Camp Graduation on the last day is at 11:30 a.m.  Parents, families, and friends are all welcome to come and watch the fun.  Riding show will be followed by a graduation ceremony.  Don’t forget your camera!

Campers are encouraged to bring ribbons to decorate their camp horse or pony for the show.

AFTERNOON HORSE CAMP ( Re-named TRAILS-N-MORE HORSE CAMP) to register see “Camp Registration Page and Release Forms”

Our afternoon horse camp has changed it’s flavor.  We have renamed this very popular camp.  We will now call it Trails-n-more horse camp. This camp is great for campers who want to sleep in the morning and ride horses all afternoon. 

The campers will spend the week trail riding, playing games on horseback and taking riding instruction.  Campers will not have to groom or saddle, as these horses will have been ridden in the morning.  Campers will however, get to help unsaddle.  The theme of this camp is all about fun on horseback.  

Open to boys and girls ages 7 to 16 years old

Prior riding experience is required.

Camp runs from 2:30 to 6:00p.m.

Each camper needs to bring one pound of their favorite trail mix ingredient and a water bottle.

Check-in at 2:00 p.m. on the first day of camp.  Every other day campers must arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to camp.

There is no graduation for this camp. Instead parents will be welcome to come meet their child’s camp horse or pony on Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.  This eliminates the need for the campers to practice a parents show.
